Art at the AC Hotel Greenville
If you’ve ever visited Greenville, South Carolina, you’ve probably noticed the stylish hotel in the heart of downtown – the AC Hotel by Marriott. Shortly after the hotel was completed, the management team reached out to Miolo to design a website that highlighted the local artists whose work was featured throughout the hotel.
Discovery and Strategy
We started with a discovery workshop to scope out a website that would highlight the artists and artwork featured at the AC Hotel. We determined that QR codes would be placed next to each piece of art at the hotel, and that scanning it would take hotel visitors to the artist’s page on the website.

We collaborated with the hotel management team and featured artists to build a 50 page WordPress site that displayed each artist’s biography and featured works. Today, if you visit the hotel, you will see a QR code next to each painting in the hotel. If you scan it, it will take you to that artist’s page on the site. Since the site was simple in scope (i.e., no complex functionality or custom design requirements), we were able to build the site from a WordPress template. We selected a template that was stylish and eye-catching yet wouldn’t detract from the focal point of the site: the artists.
